- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪Did you know that a dentist could fire you? I did not. But that is exactly what Dr. Holm did to me today. After nine years of loyalty to this man's practice, and what I thought was a true friendship, he informed me that I would have to seek out a new dentist. His reason? Because I would not pay him $1100 out of pocket (no insurance) for a "deep cleaning" (root planing, I believe it's called). I said, "You mean to say that you will not keep me as a client if I do not have the "deep cleaning?" He said that it would be supervised neglect to continue to provide me with my bi-annual cleanings, if I did not have the root planing process. Obviously turning a patient away entirely is the ultimate neglect Dr. Holm, but you don't seem to realize that. Or is it that the man who I thought was a friend is in fact a money-grubbing shyster?
